What types of tanning beds are better for immediate best looking tan results? Bronzing, Wolff, etc... Any ideas for someone who is just starting to lay but needs fast results?!

Belfast - A Modern City With Much To Offer

Belfast in County Antrim is the capital of Northern Ireland and has a long history of trouble and dispute. Despite this history it is a beautiful city with much to see and do when visiting there. It has been called Linenopolis because one of the industries that have been prominent throughout the ages is Irish linen making.

Linen is not the only thing that was manufactured in this city making it home to many even in the early days. The city has produced ropes, tobacco, and was famous for shipbuilding. Harland and Wolff built the RMS Titanic which was built and launched from the city. Because of all the industry Belfast was the largest city in Ireland starting in the 20th century.

Belfast has many historical sites that one can explore. The Giant Ring is a 5000 year old henge. There is evidence that people were inhabited the town during the Bronze Age and you can still see some of the Iron Age forts in the hills around the city. During the Middle Ages the city began to grow bigger. In 1921 the settlement was given status as a city.

In 2001 cultural quarters were established to help tourists get around the city. The Cathedral Quarter is around St. Anne's Cathedral or the Church of Ireland and features performing arts. The Gaeltacht Quarter is an area where the Irish Language is promoted. The Queen's Quarter is a college area because of location of Queen's University. The Botanic Gardens and Ulster Museum is found there. There is also the Golden Mile where you can find great restaurants and pubs for which Ireland is famous for. There is also a shopping strip where you can find some great opportunities to purchase both old and new items. The Titanic Quarter includes Belfast Harbor also called Queen's Island. Some of the old shipyards are being converted into apartments, restaurants, entertainment and there is a plan for a Titanic museum in the future.

One site that should not be missed is the Botanic Gardens, a Victorian style Garden under glass. The Palm House is one of the oldest examples known of a cast iron glasshouse. There is a jungle in the gardens that was built in 1889 and there are other gardens as well including the rose garden, walled garden, Japanese garden, Garden dedicated to Lady Diana, and Tropical ravine.

The Belfast Zoo is a great place to take a family. Here you will see a variety of animals in their natural habitat most of which are running the risk of becoming endangered. City Hall is an impressive structure with its large dome and you can take a guided tour on weekdays. Get a drink and some food at the Crown Liquor Saloon built in 1894 with carved wood and stain glass windows. This is one of the oldest pubs in town. The Grand Opera house has tours during the weekend but you can also catch performances in music and opera there. The building was built back in 1894. Learn about the linen that was produced in the city at the Linen Hall Library, the oldest library in town. This is privately owned but you are welcome to look round and have a bite to eat in the caf'. There is also a Titanic Tour and shipyard on the waterfront to explore.

With so many things to explore and fun things to see and do, Belfast should be up on your list of places to visit. The city is dynamic and now that the modern day dispute have taken on a calmer personality, it is very safe to visit. Eat and drink at the pubs and restaurants, take a look at all the historical sites, and enjoy all the entertainment the city has to offer.
